LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A Las Vegas restaurant will be giving back to the city's taxi drivers, all in the memory of a slain cabbie.

Origin India Restaurant has scheduled a fundraising event from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 15.

In the event, drivers will be treated to a to-go Tiffin lunch box filled with an entrée, two side dishes, rice and bread.

The restaurant requests a minimum donation of $5 for each lunch, and proceeds go to the Michael Boldon Memorial Fund.

Boldon was the cab driver who died when his taxi was struck by a driver who had been targeted in a shooting on Feb. 21.

"Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Michael Boldon," said Raja Majid, owner of Origin India. "We would like to take this time to recognize the hardworking men and women who provide reliable and quality taxicab service to the residents of Las Vegas and our tourists during this difficult time."

Origin India is located across from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, east of Las Vegas Boulevard.
