Police arrest teenager after he hits Milford teacher, officer

A Milford middle school student was arrested after police said he hit a teacher and an officer Friday afternoon.

Officers were called to Westshore Middle School after school administration told police a 13-year-old boy hit a teacher in the face.

When officers arrived at 1:19 p.m., they found the unidentified teenager in a parking lot on Lenox Avenue.

According to police, the teenager became angry and violent toward police. He yelled at the officers, took swings at them and hit one in the left temple, police said.

Investigators said at one point the student threatened take the officer's gun and shoot him with it. The teenager tried to take the gun from the officer, but was unsuccessful.

The teenager was arrested and charged with assault on police officer, interfering with police, third-degree assault, second-degree threatening and breach of peace.

The officer suffered minor injuries and the teenager was taken to an area hospital for medical evaluation.

He is scheduled to appear in juvenile court in the near future.
