LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The family of a Las Vegas man killed in a fiery wreck on the Las Vegas Strip described the 62-year-old as an "honorable" man and the "favorite brother" among his siblings.

Michael Boldon's family spoke to FOX5 Thursday, after the coroner's office had informed them that Boldon was the cab driver who died when his vehicle collided with a Maserati at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road.

The driver of the luxury sports car was fleeing gunshots fired from a Range Rover, according to police.

"My life mission would be to see them punished and brought to justice for the senseless thing they did," Boldon's brother, Tehran, said. "They do not know who they touched."

Boldon's son, Michael Jr., said he spoke to his father at about 3:30 a.m. Thursday, when the elder Boldon – a Desert Cab driver -- had started his shift.

An hour later, the son called his father to warn him about an accident in the resort corridor, not knowing his father was a victim.

"I was really hurt … [I] just couldn't believe it," he said. "I guarantee that our lives will be forever changed by this tragic event. It will be forever changed by the violence this man created on that street."

A passenger in Boldon's cab was also killed. The driver of the Maserati – identified by his family as Ken Cherry, was pronounced dead at University Medical Center.

At a news conference Thursday afternoon, Las Vegas Metro Sheriff Doug Gillespie said his agency was reaching across state lines for help tracking down the occupants of the Range Rover.
