Police arrest Torrington man for sexual assault on 13-year-old girl

TORRINGTON, CT (WFSB) -

A Torrington man was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of having sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Few details about the incident have been released, however, police started investigating Edgar Gonzalez, 18, after having a "sexual encounter" with the teenage girl in Torrington on Feb. 10.

Gonzalez was charged with second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor with sexual contact and risk of injury to a minor. He was being held on a $75,000 bond.

No other information was released.
