SOMERS, CT (WFSB) -

The Connecticut State Police are looking for the two men accused of robbing a convenience store in Somers at knife point late Tuesday night.

According to police, two men in their early 20s entered the Xtra-Mart on Main Street just after 11:30 p.m. and demanded money from the store clerk.

One man ran at the clerk while the other held a knife against the clerk's throat, police said.

The suspects tried to get money out of the store's safe, however, when the clerk told them that he did not know the combination they grabbed an unknown amount of cash from the register.

The two men fled the Xtra-Mart on foot toward Hall Hill Road, police said.

State police conducted a search of the area and recovered evidence, but no arrests were made.

The clerk was not seriously injured, police said.

The state police are still investigating the robbery and anyone with any information is asked to call 860-896-3200. All calls will be kept anonymous.
