What started as a routine traffic stop ended with two Maryland men in jail for possessing more than 50 bogus gift cards.
A Metro police officer stopped Lucien Etobil and Herman Ndonue on Interstate 40 for a traffic violation Thursday.
While investigating, the officer found dozens of Visa and American Express gift cards in their car.
It turns out the cards' magnetic strips were encoded with what appeared to be stolen credit card information.
Both men work for a nursing home in Washington and they are now in the Metro Jail facing a charge of criminal simulation.
