Driver hit while checking on crash victims

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A driver checking on crash victims was in critical condition after being hit by a passing vehicle Monday morning.

The person was hit after getting out of their car after a three-vehicle, rear-end crash at 83rd Avenue and Thomas Road about 6:30 a.m., said Larry Nunez of the Phoenix Fire Department. The person was taken to a nearby hospital.

No other injuries were reported.

No other information was immediately available.
