(CBS 5 News) Witnesses told Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies the man's car was speeding when it crossed traffic near Daisy Mountain Drive and Gavilan Peak Parkway and struck the pillar.
PHOENIX (CBS5) -
A man suffered life-threatening burns after his car crashed into a pillar in front of a building in Anthem on Wednesday night.
Witnesses told Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies the man's car was speeding when it crossed traffic near Daisy Mountain Drive and Gavilan Peak Parkway about 8:30 p.m., struck the pillar and burst into flames.
Deputies said the man suffered serious burns to his body and was flown to John C. Lincoln Hospital.
Gavilan Peak Parkway was closed for a time at Daisy Mountain Drive.
No other information was immediately available.
