A Springfield man is facing mayhem and assault charges for allegedly slashing another man in the face at what East Longmeadow police are calling a "family function."
East Longmeadow police tell CBS 3 Springfield 52-year-old Jose Antonio Rivera got into an argument with another man outside Club Meadow on North Main Street at about 3 p.m. Monday.
The argument went from verbal to physical and Rivera allegedly took out a sharp object and sliced the man across the face.
Rivera will be arraigned Tuesday in Palmer District Court on charges of mayhem and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
