'UNLV Boobs' Twitter shows team spirit

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Unique cheers and odd superstitions are nothing new for basketball fans cheering on their home teams.

Now, female UNLV Runnin' Rebel basketball fans have found and eye-catching way to show their pride - a Twitter page with the handle "@UNLVBoobs".

Anonymous female fans decked out in UNLV gear don't leave a whole lot to the imagination.

"What's not to like about it? There's nothing not to like about it. It's great and it's got our favorite sports team on it," said one female UNLV fan.

"I mean, if you go it, flaunt it," added another fan.

"I think it's hilarious," said a third fan.

The movement, or "boobment," started last year at Kansas University. The Jayhawks were losing a game and a fan boldly bared her cleavage with the hashtag "KUBoobs." The team won and the trend has spread to colleges across the country.

UNLV's opponent on Thursday, Wyoming, has a similar Twitter page, as does BYU, though many of the Provo posers go with full coverage, stating, "Modest is hottest."

FOX5 even spoke to a school teacher who contributed to the page.

"I'm proud that I go to UNLV. I got my bachelor's here and I got my master's here. It's a girl who runs this Twitter (page) and most of the other ones are (run by) guys. It's more like embracing being a woman than a guy objectifying us," the anonymous teacher said.
