Teen crashes car into Bank of America

MOOSUP, CT (WFSB) -

Police in Plainfield responded to a one-car accident early Sunday morning.

They said a car crashed into the front entrance of the Bank of America in Moosup, breaking the front door and damaging the front of the building.

Police said when they arrived, the driver and passenger of the vehicle had already fled the scene on foot.

The 16-year-old driver and 14-year-old passenger were located a short distance from the scene. 

Both were transported to the Plainfield Backus Hospital to treat possible injuries, and were later released from the hospital to their parents.

After an investigation, police said the driver was charged with operating without a license, evading responsibility, operating without registration, operating without insurance and Reckless Driving.
