Waterbury Hospital imposes visitor restrictions amid flu fears

Posted: Updated:
WATERBURY, CT (WFSB) -

Waterbury Hospital officials announced Friday that the medical facility has imposed new visitor restrictions amid flu fears.

"Until further notice, the hospital is not allowing anyone 18 years old or younger to come to the hospital to visit patients, which means that parents must make sure they do not come to the hospital with their children to visit family or loved ones," Waterbury Hospital officials said.

In addition, officials said, all adults are being asked to avoid going to visit patients if they are experiencing any flu-like symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, fever or headaches.

According to Waterbury Hospital, the restrictions are needed to ensure the safety and welfare of patients.
