A woman using a walker to cross a busy Phoenix street was struck and killed by a car Friday morning.
Phoenix police said the woman, who was walking with her husband, was not in a crosswalk and the road was dark near 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road just before 7 a.m.
A Phoenix Fire Department spokesman said the woman was hit by two cars. The husband was not hurt.
One driver stayed at the scene but witnesses said a second driver took off. Police said the driver who left the scene will face hit and run charges if caught.
No other information was immediately available.
