Armed bank robber strikes twice in Akron

AKRON, OH (WOIO) -

Police are looking for the armed man who robbed the First Merit Bank at 2430 Wedgewood Drive just before 5:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers say they believe the suspect is Robert Campbell Jr., 31.  Akron Police Officers also say Campbell is the suspect in the Charter One Bank robbery that occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

First Merit Bank employees say the suspect entered the bank and approached the teller counter.

The suspect told the teller, "Give me all of your money and no die pack." The teller handed the suspect an unreported amount of cash and the suspect fled to an awaiting car.

Anyone with information on Robert E. Campbell Jr.'s whereabouts is asked to contact the Akron Police Department, Detective Bureau at (330) 375-2490.
