Man shot in the hand during apartment brawl

CHANDLER, AZ (CBS5) -

A man was attacked in his apartment in Chandler by two Hispanic men early Thursday morning leaving one of the attackers with a gunshot wound to the hand.

The incident was uncovered when Chandler Police responded to a "shots fired" call near 1 West Naco Way early Thursday morning.

As responding officers neared the complex, a vehicle was witnessed fleeing the scene southbound on McQueen Road.

The officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it just north of Frye and McQueen Roads.

Inside the vehicle officers found Raul Ernesto-Alvarado, 27, and Raymundo Obeso-Villalobos, 41.

Ernesto-Alvarado had suffered a gunshot wound to the hand, while Obeso-Villalobos had a cut on his hand.

At the apartment, Officers discovered a Hispanic male victim, Silverio Mendoza-Soto, 37, who had sustained a notable head injury.

Mendoza-Soto explained that he had been attacked in his apartment by both suspects.

During the incident at least four rounds were discharged from a pistol, injuring suspect Ernesto-Alvarado.

Mendoza-Soto and Ernesto-Alvarado were transported to an area hospital.

Neither injury is expected to be life-threatening.
