Man dies following apparent assault in West Haven

WEST HAVEN, CT (WFSB) -

A man has died following an apparent assault overnight in West Haven.

Police were called to 228 Main St. around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Responding officers found 65-year-old James McCabe unconscious.

McCabe was later pronounced dead.

According to police, a person of interest has been interviewed and there are some strong leads in the case.
