Westport man accused of sexually assaulting child

WESTPORT, CT (WFSB) -

A Westport man is behind bars after being accused of sexually assaulting a child that he was babysitting.

Police said Victor Corso, 67, of Westport, was arrested at his home on Monday.

According to the Westport Police Department, a complaint was received from the Department of Children and Families on Dec. 26 about allegations of a suspected child sexual assault.

An investigation was immediately launched, and as a result, an arrest warrant was issued for Corso.

Corso was charged with risk of injury to a child and fourth-degree sexual assault.

He was arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court Wednesday and had his case transferred to Stamford Court. His case was continued until Jan. 16.

Corso is being held on a $250,000 bond.
