MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police are still investigating after they say a man robbed an eyeglasses store on North Kings Highway.

Officer Knott with Myrtle Beach Police Department confirms officers were called to an armed robbery at the LensCrafters on the 2700 block of North Kings Highway around 9 a.m. Tuesday but no one was injured.

Witnesses on the scene said the suspect came into the store and said he was leaving contact supplies for the doctors. Those witnesses claim they thought he was a salesman.

The man then put down a black case to show the gun he was carrying, ordering them into the back of the store.

As the witnesses proceeded to the back, the suspect changed his mind and forced the them to grab trash bags and fill it with frames.

The suspect helped fill the bags, put them in the black case he was carrying and told the witnesses to go to the bathroom, watching them go and then fleeing from the store.

"I don't really know what happened," said barber Hari Mosche, who works across the street. "There was a lot of police traffic over there."

Several witnesses saw the police search for the suspect, but he had already fled the scene.

The witnesses said they then moved to a different room, locked the door and called police.

Witnesses said the suspect never pointed the gun at anyone.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid thirties, weighing 150 pounds with short hair and no facial hair.

He was wearing black slacks, black dress shoes, dress shirt with tie (brown with Burberry pattern), and a brown sports jacket at the time of the crime. He was also carrying a black bag with DKNY printed on it.

The suspect was driving a white, full-sized, older model two door truck with a chrome grill. If you have any information about this incident, contact Myrtle Beach Police Department at 843-918-1308.
