Despite a disappointing season for his team, Arizona Cardinal cornerback Patrick Peterson is getting recognized as one of the best in the NFL.
Peterson was named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl. He joins Hall of Famer Rod Woodson as the only two players ever selected as both a defender and kick returner. Only Vai Sikahema(86-87) joins Peterson as Cardinals named to the Pro Bowl in each players first two seasons.
Teammates Larry Fitzgerald and Daryl Washington were selected as alternates.
Peterson leads the Cardinals and is tied for second in the NFL with seven interceptions to go along with 15 passes defensed, 57 tackles, and one fumble recovery. He has six interceptions over his past 11 games, including a streak of four straight games with an INT.
Peterson becomes the ninth different cornerback in team history to be selected for the Pro Bowl and first since Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie in 2009.
