A man suspected of stealing packages from the front porches of homes was arrested Thursday.
Police believe Kory V. Harding has been traveling around the Southfork subdivision in Old Hickory looking for packages.
Officers stopped Harding in a pickup truck on Southfork Boulevard. At the time, he was in possession of more than a dozen packages, none of which were addressed to him.
One of the parcels contained a piece of Bowflex exercise equipment valued at more than $1,000.
Police searched Harding's home, where other parcels they believed were stolen and a semi-automatic pistol were recovered.
Detectives said they will return the packages to the rightful owners.
In addition to felony theft and driving on a suspended license, police said Harding will also be charged with unlawful gun possession by a convicted felon.
Harding was convicted of attempted robbery in 1999, felony cocaine possession in 2000 and unlawful firearm possession that same year.
