MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

Two carpet cleaners have been arrested on suspicion of stealing jewelry from customers' homes and selling it as scrap.

Mesa police said Justin Bauman and Keith Baldwin received more than $30,000 for jewelry sold between July and December.

The pair admitted to stealing from multiple customers in Fountain Hills, Scottsdale and Phoenix, officers said.

So far, six customers have been identified as victims who said they discovered their treasures missing after having their carpets cleaned by the pair, police said.

The owner of the business was unaware of the thefts and has been cooperating with the police investigation, investigators said.

The Mesa Police Department is looking for additional victims and urge people who feel they were ripped off to call 480-644-3491.
