A two-vehicle collision has closed the northbound lanes of Loop 101 at Thunderbird Road in the west Valley.
One person suffered serious injuries, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
DPS said all traffic is being taken off the freeway at Thunderbird Road.
Drivers should expect extended delays and avoid the area, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a statement.
It's not known when the freeway will reopen.
