PHOENIX (CBS5) -
This quick-moving weather system won't pack the punch of the last two, but we're expecting about .10" to .20" of rain across the Valley between sundown Tuesday and sunrise Wednesday.
For comparison sake, we averaged about .50" to .75" of rain from each weather system last Thursday and Saturday.
About 4" to 8" of snow will fall from Williams to Flagstaff, down to Pinetop and Show Low. Even places like Payson and Prescott could pick up a quick inch or 2 of overnight snow. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for elevations above 5,000 feet.
The exiting system will set the stage for a very cold Thursday morning. Some of our typical Valley cold spots may dip below freezing for a few hours early Thursday. May be one of those mornings you want to consider covering the plants and of course protect the pets!
Warmer temperatures arrive for Friday and the weekend with highs in the upper 60s, to near 70. Another system may bring a little more rain and mountain snow by Christmas Day.
