SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

A crash involving up to eight vehicles blocked Loop 101 northbound at Cactus for several hours Monday afternoon, the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.

The freeway reopened again at about 4:30 p.m. following the two-hour closure.

It's not yet known what sparked the crashes or how many people were injured. DPS spokesman Officer Carrick Cook said the accidents remain under investigation.

No other information was readily available.
