Police say ½ gallon of vodka falls out of drunk driver's vehicle
EASTLAKE, OH (WOIO) -
Police arrest a drunk driver they say caused a three car accident. It happened on Wednesday around 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of Lakeland Boulevard and East 337th Street in Eastlake.
Police say two of the vehicles were stopped on Lakeland waiting to make a left hand turn onto East 337th Street. That is when police say Elizabeth Remp, 26, rear-ended the second vehicle..pushing it into the first vehicle. None of the drivers were seriously injured.
Remp allegedly then backed up, turned around on Lakeland and tried to drive off. However, she lost control of her car, traveled up onto the curve, onto the grass and then drove through the fence that was located on the north side of Lakeland.
When Eastlake police arrived on the scene, they found an empty 1/2 gallon of vodka directly outside Remp's door.
Remp was arrested for DUI and assuring clear distance. This is Remp's 2nd DUI. She has an upcoming court hearing in Euclid Muni for her first DUI.
