Cause of RV fire in New Milford under investigation

NEW MILFORD, CT (WFSB) -

New Milford firefighters battled an early morning fire that started in a mobile camper.

Officials said the fire broke out just before 2:30 a.m. at a home on Mt. Tom Road.

When fire crews arrived on scene, they said they found the RV fully involved and the flames were spreading to a nearby garage.

Crews were able to get the fire under control a short time later. Firefighters had to sand a steep hill because of water turning into ice.

Officials said the garage was used to house tractors and other equipment.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the New Milford fire marshal's office.
