A 44-year-old Yuma man is in police custody after shots rang out at a party in Yuma, the Yuma County Sheriff's Office said.
Nicolas Amarillas had been at the gathering attended by 17 other people on Saturday and was seen arguing with some of the guests, deputies said.
Amarillas left and returned about 30 to 45 minutes later with a 9mm handgun, according to sheriff's investigators. Amarillas fired at least 12 rounds at man with whom he had been arguing, authorities said.
At least two rounds struck a parked vehicle which the victim was hiding behind. No one was hurt.
Two days later, deputies located and arrested Amarillas. Amarillas was booked into the Yuma County Jail on charges of attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
