SOUTHINGTON, CT (WFSB) -
Police are investigating a fatal crash on I-691 in Southington Saturday afternoon that closed the westbound lanes.
According to police, George Abouanni, 27, of Waterbury, lost control of his car and hit a rock embankment. Another vehicle crashed into Abouanni's car after it had finally stopped in the right lane.
Police told Eyewitness News that the crash happened near exit 4 around 2:30 p.m. The scene was later cleared.
There were two people in the other car that were taken to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
