Saturday's Powerball jackpot has reached $325 million. No players having matched all winning numbers after this past Wednesday night's drawing.
This is the third time this year that the Powerball jackpot has soared above $300 million. The winning numbers Wednesday were 8, 18, 24, 30, 39, and the Powerball number was 26. The Powerball lottery is played in 42 states.
Powerball is played by choosing five numbers from a possible 1 to 59, then one additional number, the Powerball, from another pool of balls from 1 to 35. To win the jackpot, players must match all five numbers and the Powerball. No math is involved with Power Play, the $1 million is a $2 million. The lowest prizes of $4 always triple to $12. The $7 prizes always double to $14, the $100 prizes always double to $200, and the $10,000 prize with odds of 1 in 650,000 always quadruples to $40,000. For more details about the prize tiers and the odds of winning on the Powerball go to Powerball.com.
The Powerball numbers will be drawn Saturday night at 10:59 p.m.
