SIMSBURY, CT (WFSB) -
Construction crews in Simsbury hit an underground propane tank Wednesday morning, causing a leak.
The incident was reported before 9:30 a.m. in the area of 146 Hopmeadow St., and a law office that used the tank, as well as the construction site, were evacuated.
"We didn't know what the ETA was if we were going to get back in or not," said John Ritson, whose law practice was evacuated Wednesday. "But, we're probably letting people go early now today because of Thanksgiving and travel and all that."
By 11 a.m., fire crews had cleared the scene and businesses were able to reopen.
It was unknown how large the leak was, but the tank had a 1000-gallon capacity.
No injuries have been reported.
