A New Jersey woman is going out of her way to make sure that victims of Hurricane Sandy, which devastated the tri-state area last month, has a warm meal for Thanksgiving.
According to CBS New York, Jennifer Kaufman came up with a plan to make sure everyone who has been affected by the massive storm a warm meal to eat.
"These people who are dealing with their homes aren't thinking about what day it is and that Thanksgiving is just three days away," she told CBS New York.
So Kaufman set up a Facebook page, A Place at the Table, which is a Thanksgiving table share that is designed to encourage people to open up some extra seats at their Thanksgiving dinner table and seat a family that has been devastated by the superstorm.
"I really hope this motivates them to reach out, call a senior center, or find that neighbor that's by himself and invite them over, because that's what it's all about. Nobody should be eating alone," Kaufman told CBS New York.
So far, more than 40 people have been matched up with a warm place to eat this Thanksgiving.
