An arrest by the Hartford Police Department has lead to the "dismantling of a drug factory, and the seizure of two firearms," according to authorities.
While executing a warrant at an apartment unit on Webster Street, the Hartford Police Department Vice and Narcotics Division seized packaging materials used to distribute narcotics, five ounces of marijuana, one ounce of cocaine and two firearms.
Benjamin Bourdoing, 38, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a firearm, operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school and sale of narcotics. He is being held on a $500,000 bond and is expected to appear in Hartford Superior Court date of Nov. 30.
"This arrest, the shut down of a drug factory, and the seizure of two firearms from this address, should have an immediate impact on the reduction of violence in Webster Street area," said Hartford Police Chief James C. Rovella in a statement Thursday. "I commend the Vice and Narcotics Division and the Emergency Response Team on a job well done."
