Officers in New Haven arrested two Bridgeport women and recovered more than 65 grams of crack cocaine during a drug investigation Friday afternoon.
The "Project Safe Neighborhoods" task force met Xang Nakhoune, 37, to purchase drugs on York Street at 3:40 p.m. on Nov. 9.
Officers arrested Nakhoune along with Kongchanh Leuansithivong, 45, once they arrived. The task force recovered $2,600 of crack cocaine during the bust.
A puppy was also in the vehicle at the time of the bust, which was given to Nakhoune's sister.
Nakhoun and Leuansithivong were charged with several drug crimes including possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell. Nakhoun was also charged with operating a motor vehicle under a suspended license.
Leuansithivong is expected to be arraigned on Nov. 16 in Superior Court in New Haven and Nakhoun is scheduled to appear on Nov. 20.
