Man dies from injuries after he's struck by car in Phoenix

© (Source: CBS 5 News) Edward Frances Legge, 87, died at a Phoenix hospital after he was hit by the car at 11800 N. 19th Ave., just south of Cactus Road.

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police said an elderly man was killed after he was struck by a car while he was crossing a street in mid-block Monday night.

Edward Frances Legge, 87, died at a Phoenix hospital after he was hit by the car at 11800 N. 19th Ave., just south of Cactus Road.

Police said Legge was crossing east mid-block on 19th Avenue about 6 p.m. when he was hit by the northbound car.

Police said the 44-year-old man driving the car was not injured and not impaired.
