SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

The third annual 5K Walk for Peace stepped off in Scottsdale on Sunday.

About 150 area residents took part in the event at El Dorado Park.

The money raised will help fund the Center for Humane Living's anti-bullying and anti-harassment education programs.

The programs are taught through an innovative Martial Arts approach focusing on non-violent conflict resolutions, said Dr. Michael Foley, the center's co-founder.

"What it means to me is watching the development of young children growing up into great productive adults."

Foley said his programs are producing solutions for major breakdowns in society, like out-of-control violence and bullying.
