MARICOPA, AZ (CBS5) -

A bee swarm attacked a satellite TV installer and two other people at a home in Maricopa Wednesday afternoon, fire officials said.

A DirecTV installer initially encountered a couple of bees and as he was getting stung, a whole swarm showed up and started attacking.

Maricopa fire rescue crews arrived at the home at 40521 W. Magnolia Rd. and found him and several residents, a man and a woman, complaining of bee injuries, Maricopa Fire Department spokesman Brad Pitassi said.

Firefighters sprayed foam to remove the aggressive bees from the immediate area.

The installer was rushed to the hospital with dozens of stings, Pitassi said. One of the residents at the home was also taken to a local hospital for treatment. They are both expected to be OK.

One patient went to a Chandler medical facility while the other one was transported to a Casa Grande hospital, Pitassi said.

A local bee keeper was called in to help remove the rest of the hive.
