William Martin
SELIGMAN, AZ (CBS5) -
A Yavapai County man was arrested at his home Thursday morning in connection with a weekend roadway shooting.
William Martin was booked at the Camp Verde Detention Center on four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on a $375,000 bond.
Dwight D'Evelyn of Yavapai County Sheriff's Office said $250,000 of the bond is for the alleged assault and $125,000 of the bond was set from an unrelated case.
A vehicle carrying a family of four was traveling on the Fort Rock Road at Via De Oro in the Bridge Canyon west of Seligman when they noticed a man in a pickup behind them honking the horn, sheriff's deputies said.
The father of the family, who was behind the wheel, pulled over to see what was going on.
Martin, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, climbed out of his pickup and walked toward the family's vehicle, sheriff's investigators said.
As the father pulled away, Martin began shooting at the vehicle, YCSO said. Witnesses said they believe he shot five or six times. No one was injured and the family, who was not named, got away.
