MCSO investigates bomb threat at power plant

GILA BEND, AZ (CBS5) -

Deputies in Maricopa County say their investigation of a bomb threat at a power plant near Gila Bend came up with nothing.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office had their bomb squad at the Solana Generating Station and the facility was evacuated Friday afternoon.

MCSO spokesman Jeff Sprong said deputies and their K-9 unit searched the grounds.

APS spokesman Alan Bunnell said the plant is not operated by APS, they just buy power from it. Bunnell said the plant is owned by Abengoa.
