COOLIDGE, AZ (CBS5) -
Authorities in Pinal County have arrested four illegal immigrants they believe were involved in a human smuggling case near Coolidge.
Pinal County Sheriff's Office said deputies tried to stop a pickup truck at Steele Road and Highway 87 for an equipment violation about 7:45 a.m. Friday.
PCSO said the driver didn't stop and deputies started a pursuit. The driver proceeded for several miles before stopping approximately one mile from the Coolidge airport. Twenty people got out and ran.
Four of the 20 were found in nearby brush and told authorities they were from Durango, Mexico and had come to the U.S. illegally, according to PCSO.
They were turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
