PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Opening statements will be Monday in the case of a Scottsdale father accused of killing his two young sons as a result of a bitter custody battle.

Andre Leteve, 39, is alleged to have shot his 5-year-old and 1-year-old sons in March 2010.

Scottsdale police investigators said Leteve also shot himself, but the self-inflicted gunshot wound was not life-threatening.

The children's mother was not at the house at the time of the shooting.

CBS 5 News learned Leteve and his wife were in the process of getting a divorce and shared custody of their children.

Scottsdale police said that Leteve was upset about the divorce and that is what appears to have led to the shootings.
