A "wall" of bras will be raised 100 feet over Loop 202 in an effort to bring awareness to the importance of early detection of breast cancer. The "wall" will be two times higher than it was last year.
MIX 96.9 will be "bra"-casting from Tempe Marketplace until 6 p.m. Friday while collecting new or gently used bras to create the wall of bras. EVDI Medical Imaging will also be onsite providing 96 mammograms for those who need to take the first step in early detection.
The public can drop off bras at all valley TruWest Credit Unions and Z'Tejas restaurants. Larry Miller Volkswagen will also be collecting bras, in addition to donating $1 for every bar donated. The money donated will go to additional mammograms from EVDI Medical Imaging.
