PHOENIX (AP) -

Authorities said the body of a 58-year-old drowning victim has been recovered from Lake Powell.

The National Park Services said that the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area Underwater Recovery Unit recovered Wednesday the body of John Borden following a 16-day search in Padre Canyon.

Federal officials said the victim was located at a depth of more than 100 feet using equipped with sonar and video.

According to authorities, Borden went missing after trying to retrieve a jet ski lanyard that fell off when he and another person tried to help a distressed houseboat.

Superintendent Todd Brindle said rescue workers were determined to help Borden's family.
