Hay fire sends smoke, odor over E. Valley

MESA, AZ (CBS5) -

A hay fire that has been burning in the East Valley since Monday is inundating the area with a brown hazy cloud and odor, according to Mesa police.

The fire started in a haystack just north of Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport near Warner Road.

CBS 5 viewers and cbs5az.com users complained about the haze and odor Wednesday morning.

A Rural-Metro Fire Department spokesman said the fire was expected to burn for several days.
