PHOENIX (CBS5) -

The statistics are alarming. According the Maricopa Association of Governments, 40 percent of Valley residents report that they or someone they know has experienced domestic violence.

October is Domestic Violence Month, and Thursday the Maricopa Association of Governments held its press conference to kick off the campaign.

Local leaders joined victim advocates to unveil a new online map that shows locations of victim advocate services throughout the county.

The website was made possible by the collaboration between MAG and the O'Connor House. Here's a link to the website.
