FLAGSTAFF, AZ (CBS5) -
Flagstaff police say they're using money awarded through a grant to reduce motor vehicle crashes in the city.
Sgt. James Jackson said the Governor's Office of Highway Safety gave the department $5,000 to increase traffic safety through education and extra patrols.
Jackson said the department hopes to educate the public about the dangers of common traffic violations, including speed and not following too closely.
Jackson said the enforcement mobilization began Oct. 1, 2012.
