EL MIRAGE, AZ (CBS5) -
A 7-year-old boy set an apartment on fire Saturday night while playing with matches.
The El Mirage Fire Department said that the 7-year-old boy found the matches and caught a bush on fire while playing with them. That then caught the apartment on fire.
The renters of the apartment were not home at the time of the fire.
The fire department said that the apartment is a total loss and the renters do not have renter's insurance.
Staff at the apartment complex said they are trying to find a vacant unit for the tenants.
No one was hurt in the fire.
