Fast-food restaurants get new guidelines for play areas

Posted: Updated:

New regulations went into effect Wednesday, Sept. 26 for indoor play areas at fast-food restaurants.

The Board of Supervisors approved that from now on there must be a hand sanitizer station in all play areas.

In addition play areas must be cleaned once a day with the appropriate chemicals. If there is a mess in the play area, such as vomit or a dirty diaper, the mess must be cleaned up immediately.

These new guidelines are now part of the restaurant's ratings checklist.

Restaurants will have two inspection cycles to be in compliance.
