PHOENIX (CBS5) -

A woman was in extremely critical condition after she was shot in the head by a man at her Phoenix home early Thursday morning.

The 25-year-old victim was in a bedroom at 3320 W. Northern Ave. about 5:20 a.m. when a man fired numerous shots through the bedroom window, according to Sgt. Tommy Thompson of the Phoenix Police Department.

Thompson did not say how many times the victim was shot, but did say she was struck in the head.

A 35-year-old woman, a 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl in the house were not hurt, Thompson said.

Thompson said police were looking for an African-American man in a black or dark blue Toyota Tundra crew cab truck.

Thompson said there is a high probability someone in the public knows what happened and asks anyone with information to call the Phoenix Police Department at 602-262-6141 or 480-WITNESS.
