LUKE AIR FORCE BASE, AZ (CBS5) -
Luke Air Force Base (LAFB) will be conducting a base-wide active shooter exercise on Thursday, Sept. 27.
The 56th Fighter Wing of LAFB wants the public to be aware of the active exercise that will be taking place on the base Thursday.
Residents that live near the base and visitors who will be going to the base can expect a series of delays and interruptions of customer service along with possible gate closures.
There will also be the possibility of seeing explosions and smoke. The exercise will include role players with injuries. Emergency responders will be included in the exercise including fire, police, ambulances, and medical evacuations using helicopters.
LAFB will be incorporating both off base fire and police departments and Maricopa County officials.
