Tucson man sentenced to prison in home invasion

TUCSON, AZ (AP) -

A Tucson man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for his part in a home invasion last November.

Pima County prosecutors say 36-year-old Miguel Angel Sierra was sentenced Monday.

He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possessing a prohibited weapon last month.

The Arizona Daily Star says Sierra could have faced as few as five years in prison or as many as 18 years.

Authorities say a woman heard noises outside her home on Nov. 8 and when she went to investigate, she saw someone in the hallway.

They say two men grabbed the resident, forced her into her living room and demanded her car keys and cash at gunpoint before fleeing.
